Javier Aguirre, the former manager of the Mexico national team, is reportedly close to securing a position in the Spanish La Liga. Insider Matteo Moretto revealed on social media that Valencia is interested in acquiring his services.
According to the source, Valencia, who have had a disappointing start to the new La Liga season, have held successful negotiations with Aguirre regarding a potential collaboration.
It is worth recalling that last weekend, the “Bats” parted ways with their head coach Carlos Corberán. After six rounds of the Spanish league, Valencia have collected just four points and currently sit 16th in the standings. Aguirre will be tasked with pulling the club out of this prolonged crisis. Notably, for the 67-year-old Mexican coach, this would be his seventh La Liga team, with his most prominent tenure being at Atlético Madrid from 2006 to 2009.
