The draw in the match between the Czech Republic and South Africa (1:1) turns the second game of Group A into a mini-final, the winner of which will secure first place and a spot in the playoffs ahead of schedule.
For the Mexican national team, a victory also has an important logistical bonus. In this case, the hosts can not only qualify early for the Round of 16 but also retain the right to play matches at home venues up to and including the Round of 16 stage. Considering the factor of tremendous crowd support, coach Aguirre views the match against South Korea as an opportunity to minimize travel and consolidate tactical advantage at an early stage of the competition.
