Vincenzo Montella, the Italian head coach of the Turkey national team, addressed his future following a heavy 1-4 defeat to Italy in the UEFA Nations League.
“I have no intention of resigning. I believe in the work I am doing. Even when I received serious offers, I did not leave. I still have faith in our players. We have reached this stage together because of the work we’ve done, and together with them, we know how to move forward. If a situation arises regarding my resignation, I will discuss it with the players. But at the moment, that issue is not on the table,” Montella told Fanatik.
Prior to this, Turkey lost 0-1 to France in the Nations League. Earlier, at the 2026 World Cup, Turkey failed to advance from their group, which included the USA, Australia, and Paraguay, despite not having the strongest squad.
