Nations League: Greece Hosts Netherlands, Germany Faces Serbia on October 1
The third round of the UEFA Nations League kicks off today with eight matches scheduled across various groups.
In Group A2, the spotlight will be on the clash between Greece and the Netherlands. Greece have started impressively, securing two away victories against Serbia (2-1) and Germany (1-0). A win in today’s home fixture against the Netherlands would mark another significant step for Ivan Jovanović’s side on their path to the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, in the other Group A2 match, Germany will host Serbia. Despite the excitement surrounding the appointment of Jürgen Klopp as head coach, the German national team has yet to register a win under his leadership.
Turning to Group A4, Portugal aims to extend their winning streak in Copenhagen. However, they will be without their star forward Cristiano Ronaldo, who decided to leave the national team camp just before the match.
While Portugal’s position at the top of the group appears secure, the battle for the second quarterfinal spot looks set to be intense. Currently, Norway holds a slight advantage and faces an away game against Wales today. All eyes will be on Erling Haaland to see if he can continue his scoring run.
