Portugal’s captain Cristiano Ronaldo revealed that he anticipated the penalty awarded in the Croatia-Portugal match in advance. The 41-year-old veteran converted the spot-kick in the 68th minute.
“Earlier today, I had a feeling that we would be given a penalty. I mentally prepared myself because I knew it was going to happen.”
This goal marked Cristiano’s first-ever strike in a World Cup knockout stage.
