Football analyst Roy Keane shared his perspective on the reasons behind Carlo Ancelotti’s success as a coach. He spoke about the Italian manager following Brazil’s victory over Japan in the Round of 16 at the World Cup.
“Carlo Ancelotti is a giant. There are many brilliant coaches, but he is one of the best, truly at the top.
I think it’s incredible how players talk about him and his calmness, because that’s exactly what he brings. When he took over, there was chaos.
He manages to unite a group of very talented players.
A few months ago, I spoke with Gareth Bale about Ancelotti’s strengths.
He said that Ancelotti sticks to simple principles but makes every player feel special.
And judging by the players’ feedback, he has gone back to basics. The team plays brilliantly in attack, but ‘listen, we have to be decent in defense and stop conceding silly goals.’”
