Stephen Eustáquio dedicated Canada’s World Cup win to his supporters
Canada national team midfielder Steven Eustachy, who scored the winning goal against South Africa in the Round of 16 at Euro 2026, shared his emotions following the historic victory during an ITV interview. The midfielder spoke about the team’s belief heading into the World Cup knockout stages and dedicated the achievement to his loved ones.
“We worked incredibly hard for this win. We really wanted to give it to all Canadians. I think it was an amazing goal, but when I struck the ball, it felt like the entire country was striking it with me. They added power to the shot, and the ball found the net. Our belief grew after advancing from the group stage. In the knockout rounds, belief plays a huge role. Now we face Morocco or the Netherlands, and on a good day, we’re capable of anything. Everything I do is for my family, my parents, my girlfriend, my daughter, and my friends,” Eustachy said.
