Northern Ireland captain Trevor Hume expressed his delight on BBC Sport following his team’s commanding 3-0 victory over Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League.

“Overall, I think we delivered an excellent performance, and with a 3-0 lead, it’s hard to ask for more. Last night, we posed a serious threat both from set pieces and on the counterattack, which was crucial,” Hume reflected.

He added, “I still can’t believe Rory McConnell set up Kieran Brown for the third goal; in that moment, I would have definitely finished the ball into an open net myself. By the way, Kieran mentioned before the match that he hadn’t scored for Northern Ireland yet, and now he not only scored but got a brace. I’m really pleased for him because he’s been waiting for that for quite some time.”
