Ukraine winger Viktor Tsyhankov opened up about his adaptation to Ajax following his first goal for the Amsterdam club in their 5-1 Eredivisie victory over Willem II in the third round.
“Scoring a goal is definitely a fantastic feeling, but the most important thing is that we won. Glush found me, and I was almost alone there. I had time to take the shot, and it was a good goal.
Playing alongside such quality players is an incredible experience. The coach, the staff, the big club… I’m really enjoying it. Of course, it’s a bit challenging because I didn’t have a proper preseason, but there are no excuses. I want to keep working hard with the team and give everything I can.
We enjoy playing matches like this. So we just need to keep going and continue believing in our approach. Michel is new to the club, and his ideas are fresh for the players. I’m more familiar with his perspective since I worked with him at Girona, but we just need time, and we keep working hard,” Tsyhankov told Ajax Showtime.
