Eastern teams discuss trade of one of the NBA's top shooters

Atlanta Hawks are reportedly negotiating a trade involving defender Buddy Hield to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for forward Dorian Finney-Smith, according to insider Mark Stein.
The 33-year-old Hield, known for his 39.5% accuracy from beyond the arc and a career scoring average of 14.5 points per game, is considered one of the NBA’s top shooters in recent years. However, he does not fit into the Hawks’ long-term plans, while the Hornets are looking to strengthen their rotation with his addition.
Finney-Smith’s contract, carrying a $13.3 million salary, is not fully guaranteed, which suits Atlanta’s interests by potentially allowing them to waive the player and clear salary cap space.
