Giannis Antetokounmpo is currently in France attending the Esports World Cup. French media asked the Greek star if he would be interested in playing a chess match against Victor Wembanyama.
“I would really like to. After this, maybe I’ll get in touch with him. I like him.
Victor, I heard you play chess. I’ve seen some videos online. Maybe if we get a chance during the offseason or even during the season, if you want, I can play against you. Let’s see what happens,” Giannis said.
It’s worth noting that the Greek basketball player will not be available to help the national team in the August World Cup 2027 qualifying matches against Ukraine and Spain.
