Sergio Scariolo has been invited to join the new club led by Luka Dončić and Donnie Nelson, where he is expected to serve as an external advisor and assist in assembling the coaching staff.
The invitation came from Valerio Bianchini, with whom Scariolo worked as an assistant coach at Pesaro in the late 1980s.
For the 2026-27 season, Scariolo—currently a free agent following his early departure from Real Madrid—is anticipated to take on the role of an external consultant.
The Italian coach will be involved in advising on the formation of the coaching team, starting with the new head coach Alessandro Magro and his assistants. Among them is expected to be Stefan Ivanović, son of Duško Ivanović, who worked alongside Scariolo at Real Madrid last season.
