According to Talksport, Aston Villa is in advanced talks to sign João Palhinha from Bayern Munich. The 31-year-old midfielder is not part of head coach Vincent Kompany’s plans, despite his solid performances in preseason matches.

Journalists Ben Jacobs and Alex Crook report that Aston Villa is actively negotiating with Bayern Munich. The clubs had the opportunity to discuss the transfer during a friendly match held in Hong Kong on Friday.

It is worth noting that Bayern Munich will kick off their season with the German Super Cup match on August 22. Meanwhile, Aston Villa will play their first official game earlier, facing PSG in the UEFA Super Cup on August 12.
