Shakhtar’s Brazilian recruit Bruninho turns 18 today, making him eligible to participate in official matches for the club.

Previously, Article 19 of FIFA’s Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players prohibited any international transfers of underage athletes, which had prevented his registration.

The former midfielder of Atlético Paranaense cost Shakhtar €11 million.

He has been preparing for the new season with the squad and made an impressive impact by scoring twice in his first friendly match, a 5-0 victory over Rudeš.

Today, Shakhtar will face FC Kharkiv in the third round of the Ukrainian Premier League. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 UTC.
