Enzo Maresca: Man City Aims for First Trophy in Super Cup Clash
Enzo Maresca, the head coach of Manchester City, spoke ahead of the upcoming FA Community Shield match against Arsenal, scheduled for August 16.
“For me personally, this is a trophy. When a trophy is at stake and the final is near, you always aim to win the game. So, there are no friendlies here. This is a trophy we will fight hard for, the first trophy of my career at City.
Over the past five years, Arsenal has consistently been among the contenders. They are a fantastic team under Mikel. Last year, they won the Premier League, showing just how strong they are right now. But at the same time, we are City, and we will try to close the gap and compete for the victory.
Regarding the potential sale of Rodri? We have already said the transfer window is open; we can buy and sell players, and anything can happen. I just saw Rodri in the building, gave him a strong hug, and he looks good, so we will see what happens next,” the coach told BBC Sport.
