Frenkie de Jong Admits Ongoing Pain After Netherlands Win Over Sweden
Dutch international Frenkie de Jong has provided an update on his condition following the 5-1 victory over Sweden. The midfielder featured for 59 minutes in the match.
“I’m definitely still feeling some pain, but today it was manageable. We’ll see how my body responds, although I have confidence in it,” de Jong said.
When asked if he was concerned after Ronald Koeman expressed doubts about his availability following a collision, he added: “Yes, of course. The clash happened during training, and I sustained some injuries because of it, but in the end, everything turned out fine.”
De Jong also praised the team’s performance after the convincing win, suggesting that the squad should build on this positive result as a stepping stone for further progress.
“We need to develop this success from today. We were much better. I think we showed what can make us very dangerous,” he noted.
“There are things we can improve, but a 5-1 victory is something to be happy about.”
