Ghana Records Lowest Possession and Passes at World Cup Group Stage
Statistics from the group stage highlight that Ghana’s national team does not rely heavily on ball possession to achieve results. According to the data, the African side recorded the lowest average possession rate among all teams at the World Cup, holding the ball just 29.6% of the time.
In addition, Ghana completed the fewest passes overall, totaling only 524 throughout the group matches. Despite these figures, the team still managed to qualify for the Round of 16 by finishing third in Group L. Under the guidance of Carlos Queiroz, Ghana accumulated 4 points, scoring and conceding 2 goals apiece.
In the knockout stage, Ghana is set to face Colombia on July 4.
