Former Italian national team legend Gianfranco Zola is set to join Roberto Mancini and Claudio Ranieri in the national team setup, announced Giovanni Malagò, president of the Italian Football Federation.

Zola will take on the role of coordinator for youth development, overseeing everything from the academies up to the Under-21 squad.

“Ranieri and I were very keen to have Zola on board, and after consulting with Matteo Marani, president of the Italian Professional Football League (Lega Pro), we agreed on this appointment. Zola will continue to serve as vice-president of Lega Pro,” Malagò told ANSA. “Zola’s charisma, expertise, and dedication to supporting young players, which have been evident throughout his years in Lega Pro, provide the best foundation for building our future.”
