Senegalese forward Ismaila Sarr spoke after his team’s commanding 5-0 victory over Iraq in today’s 2026 World Cup match. This win marked the first triumph for the African side in the tournament and lifted them to third place in their group.
“It was a match we had to win, and we did just that. We wanted to score even more because you never know what can happen,” Sarr said. “Congratulations to the team. We played very well today. I’m very happy to have scored for my country. I’m also happy for the others. We are here for the national team, and we are giving it our all.”
