Klopp: Germany Is Just Getting Started Ahead of Serbia Clash
Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp has acknowledged the challenge of breaking down the layered defense of Serbia ahead of their UEFA Nations League Group A2 clash this evening.
“Serbia’s approach won’t differ much from what Greece employed,” Klopp said. “What makes Serbia particularly tough to face is their experience. They also have several outstanding players. They understand all the nuances of the game, so we must be prepared for that. Their mentality is unique. Although Serbian football is not in its best phase right now, the players are aware of what’s at stake and have fought hard for each other. Facing an opponent that plays deep defense is a serious test for any team, at any stage of development.”
It’s worth recalling that after two rounds, Germany have managed only a single point in Group A2 and are facing heavy criticism at home.
“We are building a team capable of troubling every opponent. This process has only just begun. We all share the goal of restoring German football to the level we all want to see,” Klopp responded to the criticism.
