Cristiano Ronaldo‘s ongoing dispute with the Portuguese Football Federation and the national team coaching staff continues to escalate. Adding fuel to the fire, Elma Ronaldo, Cristiano’s sister, made a pointed statement:
“Betrayal is a dish best served cold. You reap what you sow, and the future will reveal all,” she declared.
It is worth recalling that Cristiano Ronaldo left the national team camp just before the third-round match against Denmark. This departure was reportedly due to a disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus over playing time.
Elma did not hold back in her criticism, targeting Portuguese journalism and the national character: “Portuguese journalism deserves more competence and less speculation. As for the Portuguese people… they don’t deserve better in anything. We are envious, disdainful, uneducated, and we deserve to return to the mediocrity that has always characterized our football before Ronaldo’s era,” she stated, taking a stand against the entire country.
