Mark Geheh: Every Day at the World Cup Is a Dream
England defender Marka Gehi shared his thoughts ahead of his team’s upcoming match against Panama and reflected on his World Cup debut. This tournament marks the first World Cup appearance in the Manchester City player’s career.
“I think we just need to focus on ourselves, and it really doesn’t matter whether Panama stays in the tournament or not. Their goal is always the same – to perform as well as possible and bring pride to their country.
For us, it’s important to try to improve on what we showed in the previous game. The match will be similar, but if we manage that, I believe it will be very positive.
Honestly, I never expected to be in this position. Every day at the World Cup is a dream. Even more than a dream.
Being in this position carries a huge responsibility. Not just to myself and my family, but to all the people around the world who share my dream and want to achieve the same things I do. It’s important for them to know that it is more than possible,” Gehi told BBC Sport.
