Real Madrid and France forward Kylian Mbappé has expressed no regrets about leaving Paris Saint-Germain just before the French club secured back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles.
“It marked the end of an era. I dedicated seven years to PSG, and football is divided into distinct time cycles. My chapter lasted seven years: we reached the final, the semifinals, the quarterfinals—we experienced every stage. The moment came when it was time to move on, and the club chose a different path. They signed six or seven new players, completely restructured the team, and triumphed—I sincerely congratulate them on that achievement,” Mbappé said.
Reflecting on his departure, he added, “When I decided to leave PSG, my time there had run its course. I gave the team absolutely everything I could and believe I performed at the highest level during those years. Additionally, I wanted to fulfill a childhood dream—to play for Real Madrid. Arriving here at 24 or 25 years old is the perfect timing for such a move, so for me, it was the best decision,” Mbappé revealed in an interview on The Athletic FC Podcast.
