Negotiations between Napoli and 35-year-old Kevin De Bruyne over a contract extension have reached an impasse. According to insider Nicolo Schira, the two parties have been unable to agree on the terms of a new deal.
The Belgian midfielder joined the Neapolitan club in the summer of 2025 on a free transfer following his departure from Manchester City. His current contract runs until the summer of 2027, but the club held an option to extend it. However, progress on activating this option has stalled.
Sources indicate that the prospects for continuing their partnership appear uncertain. De Bruyne is likely to leave Napoli at the end of the 2026/27 season. The final decision regarding the Belgian’s future is expected to be made closer to the summer.
