Opta Supercomputer Rates France as Clear Favorite for World Cup Title
Following France’s convincing 3-0 victory over Sweden, the supercomputer Opta has revised its predictions regarding the leading favorite to win the World Cup. It now shows near certainty that Didier Deschamps’ side will claim the title.
According to Opta, France’s chances of winning the tournament currently stand at 29.56 percent, nearly double their previous estimate. Their closest rival, Argentina, led by an in-form Lionel Messi, lags considerably behind with just a 15.39 percent probability.
The top five contenders in this forecast also include Spain at 11.10 percent, Brazil at 9.72 percent, and England at 8.39 percent. It is worth noting that, based on the tournament bracket, Argentina and France cannot face each other until the final.
