According to TaToTake, the management of Polissya Zhytomyr has made a decision regarding the future of their key defender. The club’s leadership has rejected the final offer from Italian side Sassuolo for Eduard Sarapiy.

As a result, the 27-year-old Ukrainian national team candidate is set to remain in the Ukrainian Premier League for at least the first half of the current season.

Journalist Igor Burbas reported that Sassuolo sought to acquire the player on a paid loan deal with a mandatory purchase option. The total transfer fee could have reached €7 million, which would have made Sarapiy the most lucrative sale in Polissya‘s history.

It is worth noting that last season, Eduard scored six goals in 37 appearances for the Zhytomyr-based club.
