Ruben Amorim Targets Mason Mount Transfer from Manchester United
Manchester United is reportedly willing to sell Mason Mount to AC Milan, currently managed by their former head coach Ruben Amorim, at a reduced price, according to MilanPress.
Amorim, who was dismissed by Manchester United in January and left without a club, was appointed AC Milan’s head coach in June.
The Portuguese coach now faces the challenge of leading Milan to the Serie A title next season. Although Milan finished fifth last season, they were only six points behind second-placed Napoli, losing three of their last five league matches. However, the gap to champions Inter Milan was significant at 17 points.
The Italian club has already taken initial steps to sign Mount, the report claims. Manchester United initially set a price of just €25 million for Mount’s transfer, but this figure could be lowered further.
Mount, who started only 12 Premier League games last season, is considered one of Milan’s two main targets alongside PSG striker Gonzalo Ramos.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror states that AC Milan’s management has not contacted representatives of the 27-year-old player and that he is expected to remain at Old Trafford.
Despite this, Italian media remain adamant that Amorim is keen to reunite with one of the players he coached during his time in English football.
