The signing of Flamengo winger Ryan Roberto marked a historic moment for Shakhtar Donetsk, as he became the 14th Brazilian player in the club’s current squad.
Previously, the highest number of Brazilian players in Shakhtar’s roster was 13, achieved during the 2014/15 and 2018/19 seasons.
Interestingly, the current Shakhtar squad features fewer Ukrainian players, totaling just 12.
It is worth noting that the 18-year-old Ryan Roberto was acquired for a transfer fee of nine million euros, with the club securing his services under a contract running until 2031.
