Joel Silva, a Brazilian insider, has revealed that during this transfer window, Vasco da Gama attempted to sign Marlon Gomes from Shakhtar Donetsk. Marlon, who spent five years developing in Vasco’s youth system before moving to Ukraine, is a product of the club.
According to Silva, the midfielder himself showed interest in returning to the “Cruzmaltino” side. However, Shakhtar set a price tag of 20 million euros for the player, a figure that proved too steep for Vasco.
Earlier reports indicated that one of the giants of the Saudi Pro League, Al Ahli, had also expressed interest in Marlon Gomes.
