Host of “TaToTake,” Mikhail Spivakovsky, has shared new insights regarding the potential transfer of Kharkiv’s defensive midfielder Ivan Kalyuzhny to Shakhtar. Earlier reports indicated that the club was prepared to trigger the player’s release clause.
“A week ago, we discussed Shakhtar’s consideration of activating Ivan Kalyuzhny’s clause. Even then, I mentioned it seemed somewhat odd that Shakhtar chose to pursue this now, as they could have done so a year ago without paying the four million,” Spivakovsky explained.
He provided an update based on recent information: “Just last week, Shakhtar noticeably reduced their interest in Kalyuzhny. We understand that certain processes are ongoing, the off-season is already starting, and probably with each passing day, the likelihood of activating this clause is decreasing.”
