Former Inter striker Christian Vieri believes the Milan club is well-positioned to defend their Serie A title in the upcoming season. As a reminder, the “Nerazzurri” are the current holders of both the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the ex-forward commented: “Inter has a very strong squad. To me, they look like a super team. They have already signed Stones, who is a top-level player and will add another layer of strength to their defense: experience, quality, and a winning mentality.
In Italy, they truly dominated while playing attractive football. There will be some pressure now because winning two titles in a row is never easy. But Christian Kivu is used to handling stress, even as a player, so he won’t have any problems.
I also think Napoli could have good chances because they have a strong team and a good coach in Allegri. The rest lag behind these two teams. I’ll be able to provide a clearer picture come September.”
It is worth noting that the new Serie A season is set to kick off in the second half of August.
