Zinchenko Departs Ajax After Limited Playtime and Injury Setback
Aleksandr Zinchenko has officially ceased to be a player for Ajax, as his loan agreement with the Dutch club expired on July 1, a fact the club confirmed on its official website.
Zinchenko’s time at Ajax failed to take off: he featured in just two matches, totaling 26 minutes of play, before suffering an injury. He has not appeared on the pitch since February 8 due to undergoing surgery.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone at Ajax for the warm welcome and support I received during the, unfortunately, brief two weeks I spent at the club. From the bottom of my heart, I wish all the best to everyone at the club and all those connected with it,” Zinchenko wrote on his Instagram page.
There has been no concrete information yet regarding the next steps in the Ukrainian’s career.
