Aurelien Tchouameni: We Aim to Make Deschamps Proud Amid Difficult Times
France’s vice-captain Aurélien Tchouaméni and assistant coach Guy Stéphan have expressed their support for Didier Deschamps ahead of the match against Norway in Boston. The French head coach will miss the game due to the passing of his mother.
“On behalf of the entire French national team and our whole football family, we extend our condolences to the coach and his loved ones. This is a difficult time for everyone. We have tried to keep things running smoothly, but we have a mission, and we want to make him proud,” Tchouaméni said.
Guy Stéphan will take charge of the team in Deschamps’ absence. He noted that he remains in constant contact with Deschamps, but there will be no communication on match day as the game coincides with the funeral. The assistant promised to do everything possible to justify the trust placed in him.
