Girona Launches Disciplinary Action Against Viktor Tsygankov
Girona has issued an official statement on its website announcing the launch of disciplinary proceedings against Ukrainian midfielder Viktor Tsyhankov due to his recent conduct.
The club’s communiqué states that the player’s actions may constitute a breach of his contractual obligations and fall short of the behavioral standards expected by the club. Girona emphasizes its intention to protect its rights and interests and will take appropriate measures within the framework of this disciplinary process. The club has firmly warned that it will not provide any further public comments at this stage.
This situation stems from events surrounding the Segunda División match against Leganés, which ended in a 1-1 draw. According to the coach, Tsyhankov refused to change and enter the field despite being called up to the squad. The player reportedly wants to leave the club following its relegation to the lower division, has shared screenshots of internal communications, and threatened to share his version of the events. It is believed that he possesses medical certificates indicating he should not have played that day.
