Nazariy Rusyn Set to Return to Ukraine with Karpaty Lviv from Sunderland
Lviv’s Karpaty are reportedly on the verge of signing Ukrainian forward Nazariy Rusyn, whose contract is currently held by English club Sunderland.
According to TaToTake, the Premier League club has agreed on the key terms of the deal, and an official announcement about the transfer is expected soon. The only remaining issue is resolving compensation related to the terminated contract, after which the striker will be able to return to the Ukrainian league, which he left in September 2023 when he moved abroad from Zorya.
Rusyn’s career in England has been challenging. Over two seasons, he made 32 appearances for Sunderland, scoring two goals and providing one assist. Last year, the 27-year-old forward went out on loan—first to Hajduk Split and then to Arka Gdynia.
