Bayern Munich concluded their preseason tour of Asia on a high note with a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa, courtesy of goals from Kim Min-Jae and a stunning strike by Luis Diaz. Manuel Neuer played the full 90 minutes in goal and expressed satisfaction with both the result and the team’s performance against a strong opponent.
“It was important for us to win this match against a top Premier League side that also qualified for the Champions League and to deliver a strong performance,” Neuer said. “The conditions were challenging, but we showed great quality, and I am very pleased. We always aim to improve and refine our fundamental skills. That’s exactly what the young players joining the team are trying to learn quickly. They showed a very positive attitude.”
The experienced goalkeeper also spoke about the team’s continuity and how the newcomers are integrating ahead of the new season.
“It’s crucial that the core of the team has remained almost unchanged, while we have added new players who strengthen the squad. We still have a couple of friendly matches left as part of our preparation for the Super Cup. We take this very seriously, and I think you could see that today as well.”
