According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea and Sunderland are set to hold a second round of negotiations today regarding the transfer of midfielder Granit Xhaka. The player himself is eager to join the London club.
“New talks between Chelsea and Sunderland concerning Granit Xhaka are scheduled for Monday. The management of both clubs continues to maintain direct communication. Although the deal remains complicated, it is not yet off the table at this stage.
Xhaka’s position is clear: he wants to move to Chelsea and work under the guidance of Javi Alonso. As previously reported, a full agreement on personal terms has already been reached. At the same time, Xhaka holds Sunderland in high regard and remains patient,” Plettenberg wrote.
