Yann Diomande Focuses on World Cup Amid Liverpool Transfer Speculation
The Ivory Coast national team has advanced to the Round of 16 at the World Cup, where they will face the second-placed team from Group I on June 30 in Arlington. Following their 2-0 victory over Curaçao, the spotlight has turned to the 19-year-old Ivorian forward, Yan Diomande, who is reportedly a top transfer target for the Merseyside club. Last week, German side RB Leipzig rejected a €100 million bid from the Reds, but the English club is prepared to increase their offer to €115 million to secure the young talent’s signature.
Diomande, however, remains fully focused on his national team duties: “Right now, I don’t know anything. I’m not thinking about my future after the World Cup; I’m just trying to put all my energy into this tournament, and then we’ll see what happens. I can’t say anything about that yet, but the World Cup doesn’t happen every year—it only comes around every four years—so I’m making the most of it, and everything else will have to wait and be seen.”
